James has loved cars from an early age and worked in the industry since he left school. He has a wealth of experience as a qualified vehicle technician through to workshop controller.
James' passion for car extends into his personal interests. Like other Bell & Colvill petrolheads he is a regular participant in car meets and frequently attends automotive events. James hopes to share his love for cars with his young son.

Chris Stewart
Deputy Group Aftersales Manager
Chris is one of Bell & Colvill’s most experienced team members, having been with us since 1991.
Read MoreWith many years experience in parts, Chris has now taken on a new challenge within the service department as our Deputy Group Aftersales Manager. He supports the day-to-day running of the service team, drawing on his extensive knowledge to ensure customers receive clear advice, expert guidance, and the highest level of care throughout their ownership journey.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys painting with watercolours, attending horse races, and travelling – always aiming to discover new destinations rather than returning to the same place twice.

Phil has been with us since 2006 and lends his experience to all areas of Lotus ownership.

Phil is a great motorsport fan, with a particular interest in the BTCC and DTM championships and enjoys relaxing on holidays to the Greek Islands.

Dean’s passion away from the workshop is following the highs and lows of Manchester United, whether attending matches or watching at home.

Ryan North
Lotus Technician
Ryan joined Bell & Colvill in 2020 and came with a variety of experience from one of the
Read Moreleading German marques. Although Lotus is his primary responsibility, Ryan is on hand to support the Morgan and Subaru sides of the workshop too.
Away from work, Ryan attends many car meets at weekends and has started a full restoration on a classic Rover P5.

Olly Sutton

Steve Binstead

Steve has been with Bell & Colvill since 1997 and after originally being a service advisor,
Read Morehe began concentrating on matters behind the scenes. He is involved in all aspects of customer data and communication for our service site and processes warranty claims. Having been in the trade since 1978, he appreciates the camaraderie and down to Earth approach at Bell & Colvill.
Outside of work Steve is a very keen photographer, with his subjects ranging from wildlife to the automotive scene.

Simon Hofman
Senior Transport Logistics Operator
‘Hoffie’ (as he’s known to his colleagues) joined Bell & Colvill in 1986 after serving in the Royal Pioneer Corps
Read Morefor six year. While our founders were racing as the Bell & Colvill Motorsport team, Simon was vital in transporting everything needed for a race weekend all over Europe. One of his highlights was transporting the teams’ Maserati 250F to the Monaco Historic Grand Prix. Simon’s attention to detail is second to none, so you can be sure your car will always be handled with care whenever it’s on his trailer.
Away from the business, Simon enjoys driving radio-controlled cars and boats, playing golf and spending time with his family.

Max Elliman

Max has been part of the team since 2015 and is at the heart of keeping our West Horsley and Guildford sites maintained and welcoming.

A real car enthusiast himself, Max has his own collection of classics, including a Ford Capri, and has a particular interest in post-war British cars. Away from the forecourt, he also enjoys playing pool.
